Disaster Aid Invention Needs Votes!
Posted on | April 5, 2010 | Comments Off
My sister brought to my attention a couple months ago the Pepsi Project where you can submit your idea and request X amount of funding for it. After Pepsi approves your idea, it has a month to gather votes, and if you are fortunate enough to make it to the top 10 in your category, you get the money you ask for! Problem is, it takes tremendous amount of work to get votes, and you have to vote everyday! Anyway, here is the invention idea in case you’re interested. Voting ends 4/30. Please vote : )
Idea is to:
Design, develop, test deployment of customized shipping container to transport food supplies. This invention would enable people affected by severe natural disasters (i.e. earthquakes, hurricanes) to never go without food and essential supplies. In natural disaster, roads are often obstructed by debris, and harbors are damaged so that food and aid are dispersed slower than needed. The shipping container will be modified to be a giant vending machine that can be transported via helicopter to desolate areas. The container will hold a massive supply of food, and have an electronic interface for individuals. The interface will allow for input of personal information that can uplink to a database easily accessible via internet so that loved ones will know their relatives are safe. Interface will also contain finger print reader so that each individual receives their ration fairly. This will elimiate riots/unrest, also alleviate the demand for personnel to distribute supplies.
